The league coaches and Board Members will be meeting to select this summers "All-Star" teams. Just a quick run-down on how this process works.
All Coaches have the ability to nominate either their own players, or players from another team. The Coaches confir on how the players have performed this year.(no returning all-star players are automatically put on this years team.) Coaches then select by way of anonymous ballots.(this is to allow the other coaches to feel free to grade the other coaches kids accurately.) The Board just oversees the procedings, and votes on the selection of the coaches. The Board, does not select any of the players.
We will post the names of the players selected after the coaches have notified them, and all of the players have accepted the committment to play for the summer.
If you have any questions or concerns on this process, please contact your player agent. The coaches and board members are instructed to keep any of the selection discussions private, so please do not ask any of them to discuss the specifics of the meetings.
Thank you for all of your support and understanding.

We as a board understand your frustrations with our valleys weather in the spring. We just wanted to say thank you for supporting your kids and our organization throughout the spring months. A lot of questions have been asked about why we don't run our seasons in the summer? We will try to give a couple of reasons:
1)With this being a college town, a number of our participants are either children of students and/or faculty members. If those players are removed from our league, the number of teams per division would decline.
2)Vacations and conflicts become even harder to schedule around during the summer months. We would hate for a T-ball game to be cancelled because only 4 players are in town to make a game in the summer.
3)Slightly warmer, but no guarantee of better weather. For those of you lucky enough to have games on the warm days and nights of the past couple of weeks you can attest to those being magnificent baseball/softball days. The wind still tends to blow in the summer, and can still result in poor playing conditions. (This is just how our valley is).
4)Keeping the seasons together. Our main focus is to give as many kids as possible the chance to play this great game. Running the season during the same time period, allows siblings and parents the chance to play during the same playing season. Our volunteers put in countless hours to make these leagues a reality. We run our registrations to try to minimize mistakes and changes. We operate on a very tight timeline on going from registration, to team formation, to practices, to games. Late registrations and delays in this process would really effect our ability to organize our league.
Hopefully you are all enjoying yourselves, and lets all hope for warmer weeks ahead!!
Sincerely,
Greg Olin

All League game schedules are complete, and can found here on our website. Please go to the "schedule" tab at the top of the page, then click on the appropriate league on the left side of the screen. You can also view the schedules on your team page. (These schedules don't always transfer correctly from our master schedule, so if you see any confusing dates and/or games, please check the master schedule under the "schedule" tab.) If you still see an error or need clarification on a schedule, please contact your appropriate player agent.
Thanks for your patience, we try to avoid as many scheduling conflicts as possible, but please understand that we only have so many fields and so many available days to complete all of our games.
Good Luck this season!

We've updated most of the 2012 team rosters and sponsors but weren't able to get to all of them. If you don't see your team yet, don't worry, we'll get it added as soon as we can. You should have already received a phone call from your coach to tell you which team you're on. If you haven't please contact the appropriate player agent as soon as possible.

EYBS has always strived to keep the cost of playing baseball/softball in the Kittitas Valley down to a minumum. One of the main reasons we have been able to do so over the past years, has been due to our annual raffle ticket fundraiser. The League has been seeing a decline in participation over the past 4 years from this fundraiser. We have been receiving a number of raffle packets returned with no tickets being sold. The fundraiser has always been budgeted to help offset the increasing cost of operating the league.
The board has decided to eliminate the league wide fundraiser, but in order to offset this, it is inevitable that the registration costs are going to have to increase.
The largest cost to the league per player is in the Boys and Girls Major Divisions and the Boys Minor Division. The cost for umpires, equipment, uniforms, field use and maintenance require the fee to go to $100 per player.
All of the non-umpired divisions will go to $70 per player. We are always trying to update safety equipment and to make sure all players have a positive experience in our league.
Looking forward to seeing you on the ball fields this spring.
Sincerely,
The EYBS Board of directors
